I'm no speedrunner but I still occasionally claw-grip in Souls games when traversing from point A to point B quickly, since I like having full control over the camera, and this is especially useful when trying to zigzag/run past enemies. The auto-tracking on the camera in Souls isn't that great, so it can be useful.

Webactually, in the menu of the PS4 itself you can actually remap the buttons on the PS4 Controller to your will. So even if a game like Dark Souls does not feature button remapping, you can still do it within the PS4 itself. You can save the layout and later switch between this and the default layout whenever you wish. WebOct 25, 2016 · Claw and proud. I owned an Elite controller and currently own a Steam controller bought in an effort to eliminate claw gripping, but both are inferior to the mighty DS4 when it comes to Dark Souls. Elite controller is just uncomfortable and the Steam controller is noisy and not suited to smooth camera control in Dark Souls.

WebMay 29, 2024 · On Dark Souls, I would claw. On Bloodborne, I remapped run to L1 and used circle as my weapon transform button. This worked fine. I play with a modded controller from Evil Controllers now, so I could just map run to one of the back buttons.
